Evan Rachel Wood was born on the 7th of September, 1987 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her father, Ira David Wood III is a theater actor, writer and director, as is her mother, Sara Wood, is an actor as well as acting coach. She is the daughter of Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David Wood III, an actor. Evan as well as her brothers appeared in the Theatre In The Park, Raleigh in the same place where her father serves as the executive director. At the age five she screen-tested against Kirsten Dunst for her lead role in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) after a long auditioning process.
