Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell
rose to fame as a part of the cast of 'Saturday Night Live,' before appearing
on such major-screen comedy films as 'Elf"Anchorman," and 'Talladega
Nights.' Born in 1967 in Irvine, California, Will Ferrell launched his career
in comedy when he was an actor with the improv troupe based in Los Angeles, the
Groundlings. After a seven-year run as a Saturday night Live Cast Member,
Ferrell was one of the most renowned comedic actors in the industry with
off-color hit films like Old School (2003) or Anchorman: The Legend of Ron
Burgundy (2004). Ferrell is also co-creator of the popular video streaming
website Funny or Die, and experienced success as a voiceover actor in animated
films like Megamind (2010). John William Ferrell, born July 16, 1967 in Irvine,
California. Will Ferrell is the eldest child of Righteous Brothers keyboardist
Lee Ferrell (and Kay Ferrell), but he wasn't the student clown during his time
at University High School. Studious and somewhat quiet, Ferrell determined to
leave his impression on the football field which is where he established an
academic record for the highest number of field goals scored. Even within the
more secluded environment of his suburban home, Ferrell displayed little of the
outrageous, funny outbursts that would later help determine his career. His
mother, who was interviewed by Esquire reported that her son was even-tempered
and easygoing. "You are familiar with those tiny Matchbox cars? Will
arrange his Matchbox cars on his own and be totally content. You'd askhim
"Do you want to go Disneyland this morning?" or "You want your
cars lined up?" and he'd think about it. Ferrell was not an ideal straight
man but that's not to say he wasn't. A glimpse of Ferrell's comic abilities was
seen every morning in high school when he disguised himself and announced the
day's events over the loudspeaker system. Ferrell graduated from the University
of Southern California, Los Angeles in 1986. He joined Delta Tau fraternity,
and pursued a degree for sports journalism.
